Richmond Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting on Chamberlayne Avenue

RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on Chamberlayne Avenue.

At approximately 1 a.m. on January 18, officers responded to the 3200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man who had been shot in the stomach and right leg.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The Richmond Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact the department at 804-646-5112.
