Henrico County, VA — A police officer and one of the suspects were injured Thursday night after a pursuit across Henrico County ended in a crash. The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. on January 9, when Henrico County Police responded to a larceny call in the 3400 block of Pump Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers conducted a brief investigation and identified a vehicle of interest related to the crime. When officers attempted to take the suspects—a man and a woman—into custody, the pair fled in the vehicle, sparking a chase.
The pursuit lasted for several miles before ending in a crash on Laburnum Avenue near Havie Road. According to police, both the officer involved in the chase and one of the suspects sustained injuries during the incident. They were both transported to nearby hospitals, where they were treated for what authorities described as minor injuries.
At this time, police have not confirmed whether the injuries were a result of the crash itself or other factors during the pursuit. A spokesperson for the Henrico County Police Division stated that additional details would be released as the investigation continues.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the individuals involved.
