Chesterfield County, VA – The cyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle on New Year’s Eve in Chesterfield County has been identified as 21-year-old Marvin O. Molina Gonzalez. According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, Gonzalez was riding his bicycle in the 16500 block of Jefferson Davis Highway when the fatal crash occurred at approximately 6:42 p.m. on December 31.
Police reported that Gonzalez was ejected from his bicycle upon impact. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Gonzalez succumbed to his injuries shortly after the collision. Authorities have noted that Gonzalez did not have a permanent address at the time of the incident.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Police have stated that no charges have been filed against the driver as of now, and the investigation remains ongoing.
