Shooting on Washington Street in Petersburg Leaves Two Injured

Petersburg, VA — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening on Washington Street in Petersburg. The incident took place in the 1400 block of West Washington Street, where a 26-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to a statement from the Petersburg Bureau of Police, the man was shot in his leg and backside, while the woman sustained a gunshot wound to her ankle. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and they were transported to local hospitals for further medical attention.

The police department was alerted to the shooting just before midnight on Sunday, December 29. Officers quickly responded to the scene, where they began their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
