Man Killed in Shooting Incident on Richmond Highway

Richmond, VA — A man is dead following a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon off of Richmond Highway. Richmond Police responded to a report of a robbery in progress that quickly escalated into a shooting.

At approximately 1:21 p.m., officers were called to the 3600 block of Richmond Highway, where they found a man on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The police have confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a homicide. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and the cause and manner of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
