Richmond, VA – Police in Colonial Heights are actively searching for a man accused of striking a pedestrian with his vehicle behind a 7-Eleven store in November. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of November 12, left the victim with serious injuries.
At approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, officers responded to a report of a man found lying behind the 7-Eleven at 617 Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the male victim had been struck by a vehicle, which had fled the area immediately following the crash.
Witnesses provided authorities with descriptions of the vehicle involved, and the victim was quickly transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to VCU Medical Center. At the time of the incident, police reported the victim was in serious but stable condition.
Following an extensive investigation, the Colonial Heights Police Department announced on December 12 that they had identified a suspect in the case. Dravonte Williams, a 25-year-old man, is now wanted on three charges related to the hit-and-run: felony aggravated malicious wounding, felony leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless driving.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and police are asking the public for help in locating Williams.
