Richmond, VA — Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred early Sunday morning near the university’s Monroe Park campus. The incident took place in the parking deck of the Coliseum Lofts, located at 1359 W. Broad St., at approximately 2:20 a.m. on December 8.
According to a VCU alert issued by campus police, three victims were approached by two male suspects who displayed firearms and demanded their personal belongings. The suspects, both described as Black men in their 20s, were reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the robbery.
Following the incident, the suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, traveling east on West Broad Street. At the time of the robbery, the victims did not immediately report the crime, but a delayed report was made to VCU Police around 2:53 a.m.
In response to the robbery, VCU Police have increased patrols in the area around the Monroe Park campus and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
