Two Drivers Hospitalized After Crash in Richmond

Richmond, VA – Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a late-night collision at Westminster Highway and Garden City Road on Tuesday. The Richmond RCMP reported that the crash occurred just before midnight, resulting in one car rolling over and another becoming lodged in a tree.

According to the police, a grey 2019 Audi A6 was heading east on Westminster Highway when it ran a red light and collided with a 2023 Nissan Rogue, which was traveling south on Garden City Road. The force of the impact caused the Audi to overturn, while the Nissan became stuck in a tree.

Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles and required assistance from Richmond Fire-Rescue to be extricated. Emergency responders transported them to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police have not yet released further details on the condition of the drivers. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with any information.

Westminster Highway and Garden City Road were temporarily closed while crews cleared the scene and investigations took place.
