CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a shooting that occurred in Chesterfield County last month.

On the evening of November 19, Chesterfield County Police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Fordham Road and Gregory Drive around 7:30 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a car speeding away from the area shortly after the shots rang out. As officers made their way to the scene, they were informed that blood, shell casings, and marijuana had been discovered in the 9200 block of Chatham Grove Lane.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found no immediate evidence of a shooting victim. However, officers soon learned that a 17-year-old male had sought treatment at a local hospital for injuries consistent with “gun pellet wounds.” The teen’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and he has since been released from the hospital.

After a thorough investigation, Chesterfield County Police identified 22-year-old Aiden T. Finnegan, of the 5600 block of Stockport Turn, as the primary suspect in the shooting. Finnegan was arrested on November 26 and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Finnegan is currently being held in jail without bond as the investigation into the incident continues. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.
