Chief Edwards presented his 2024 Mid-Year Crime Briefing to the community, discussing public safety, providing an update on Operation Safe Summer, and welcoming members of the Public Safety Partnership

Richmond, VA – According to the statement, the Public Safety Partnership is a U.S. Department of Justice program that enables participating sites to consult with and receive expedited, coordinated training, technical assistance, and an array of resources from the DOJ to enhance local public safety strategies.

During the presentation, RPD Deputy Chief El-Amin Jones rounded out the session with a detailed description of the RPD Strategic Plan.

This plan outlined the department’s goals and initiatives aimed at improving community safety and crime prevention efforts in the coming months.
