Contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation are scheduled to implement a series of overnight ramp closures along I-64 as part of construction for the Hampton Roads Express Lanes Norfolk Segment

Richmond, VA – According to the state officials, the work reportedly started on Monday and it includes the full closures of the I-64 east and west on- and off-ramps to Tidewater Drive north and south between Feb. 12-19 from as early as 8 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m.

All ramps will not be closed at the same time.

Signed detour routes will be in place to direct motorists.

Before hitting the road, consider using VDOT’s free 511 Virginia traffic tools, or the free 511-integrated Waze GPS app, to check for the most up-to-date road and travel conditions.

This construction work is weather- and schedule-dependent; therefore, this schedule is subject to change.
