Face masks mandatory in Fargo Public Schools for 2021-2022 school year

Fargo, North Dakota – Face masks will be mandatory for students in the 2021-2022 school year in Fargo Public Schools. Members of Fargo Public School Board voted 6-3 in favor of the proposal.

A key factor to this decision was the Fargo Cass Public Health recommendation of wearing masks indoors in high risk areas and in schools.

West Fargo, Moorhead and Grand Forks Public Schools decided only to recommend wearing face masks for the upcoming schools year, but Fargo Public Schools did not follow their example and made face masks mandatory instead.

Within the Fargo School Board petitions are being circulated to recall a number of board members for their actions during the pandemic and in other instances while in power.
