Fargo, North Dakota – A suspicious item discovered at the front door of an apartment turned out to be no threat to the public.

On late Thursday afternoon the Red River Valley bomb squad was dispatched at 2401 33rd Avenue South in Fargo to remove the device. Police evacuated the apartment building, closed many streets and secured the area, as a precaution.

After the bomb squad determined that the item was not harmful, residents were free to return to their homes and the streets were reopened.

What type of item was found was not described by the police.
