Invest in a Christmas tree for a worthy cause

Minot, North Dakota – This weekend, a lot of families will be heading out to choose their Christmas trees, and in Minot, there is a location that donates a portion of the tree’s purchase price to a worthy organization.

“Buy a Tree, Change a Life,” the Eagles Wings Community Fellowship’s eighth annual event, got underway this Friday.

The church is raising money for children’s outreach and education in Southeast Asia by selling Christmas trees. North Dakota is where the money is also spent.

The proceeds from each tree purchased will also go toward supporting the Minot Youth for Christ.

“I mean for our church, I think it’s become a tradition here too, where it means something, and for me personally, but earlier this year, I was able to go to Southeast Asia and go to Cambodia and go see some of the schools and churches that we have helped build and support,” said Travis Hovde, the pastor at Eagles Wings Community Fellowship.

According to Hovde, the trees will still be for sale Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays from 12 to 6 p.m.
