Man from Fort Ransom jailed on over 40 counts of child pornography

Fort Ransom, North Dakota – A North Dakota guy from Fort Ransom is being held in the Barnes County Jail on over a dozen felony counts.

Alexander Lorentz Carlson is accused of 42 counts of possessing specific things banned, commonly referred to as child pornography, according to court records from North Dakota.

Media Lab/Kik contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on August 15, 2015, that a user had submitted files that appeared to be child pornography. According to subscriber data that Kik gave, the account was established on May 3, 2023, and it was canceled on July 27, 2023.

Alexander Carlson was the owner of the IP address, which was linked to a home in Fort Ransom State Park. Carlson works as a Park Ranger at Fort Ransom State Park and holds a license as a peace officer, according to court filings.

Carlson faces allegations that he possesses images and recordings of child pornography that show kids as young as 4–6 years old engaging in sexual behaviors. 42 photos and 68 videos were among the more than 100 files that the investigators discovered. Based on distinctive tattoos, investigators concluded that three of the photographs are thought to be of Alexander Carlson, according to court records.

After being taken into custody, Carlson showed up in Ransom County Court on September 28. $50,000 was established as his bond, and $5,000 must be posted before he can be released.
