Grand Forks City Council authorizes the expansion of the water treatment plant’s first phase

Grand Forks, North Dakota – The Grand Forks City Council has given its preliminary approval for the wastewater treatment facility expansion.

According to the authorities, work will start in November and be divided into two stages.

The first stage is updating and fixing the current wastewater treatment facilities as per the officials’ assessment. Phase two, which is anticipated to begin in 2027, entails building new features and expanding the plant to boost facility capacity.

Officials from the city said that because the current facility is more than 20 years old, improvements are required due to the expanding population.
