The Red River Valley Fair opens for the 2023 summer

West Fargo, North Dakota – The Red River Valley Fair is back, and organizers claim that this is the best edition yet thanks to the addition of fresh, elite talent for the grandstand, a mini-market for independent retailers, and of course, fair cuisine.

“So many things that the public may not know what happens behind the scenes to put the fair on and bring it together, but we’re so excited to have everyone here and on the grounds for the best ten days of summer,” Director of Marketing and Events Elizabeth Birkmeyer said.

The ‘blue raz cotton candy sour’ from Drekker Brewing, an air-conditioned Kids’ Zone with interactive games and face painting, the Square at the Fair marketplace, and a remodeled Agriculture Education Center are just a few of the new items Birkmeyer suggested visitors check out this year.

Visitors to the fair can also get to know Big Roy, the new mascot for the event named after Roy Faught.

“He is a past board member who played an integral role in helping bring the fairgrounds to what it is today,” Birkmeyer said.

Birkmeyer advised giving Big Roy a hug and a high-five if you encounter him.

The event will continue through July 16.
