Bismarck, North Dakota – Following a head-on collision early on Sunday morning in Ramsey County, two people are critically hurt.
A Toyota Varris entered the southbound lane of Highway 57 as it was heading north, 6 miles south of Devils Lake, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The Toyota then collided head-on with a Jeep Liberty before stopping on the east shoulder of the road. After that, the Jeep settled on the west shoulder. After that, everyone in both vehicles was taken for medical attention to CHI St. Alexius in Devils Lake (and eventually to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks).
The driver of the Yaris, a 35-year-old Devils Lake resident, was seriously hurt in the collision and is currently being prosecuted for DUI. Another passenger, a 33-year-old man from Devils Lake, is thought to have suffered just minor wounds.
The Jeep’s 18-year-old Devils Lake resident driver also suffered significant wounds.
The inquiry into the collision is still ongoing.
