Property tax removal measure filed with North Dakota Secretary of State’s office

Bismarck, North Dakota – The North Dakota Secretary of State’s office has received a petition calling for the repeal and suspension of property taxes, with several exceptions.

The proposal would make it impossible for any political unit to impose taxes on either tangible or intangible property.

The only exception is when the money is being used to settle bond debt that was purchased before the measure was approved.

Rick Becker, a former state representative from North Dakota, is the measure’s sponsor.
