(Fargo, ND) – Fargo residents that were hoping to breath easier without a mask on have to wait a bit longer.
Wednesday, the Fargo City Commission decided to extend the city’s mask mandate through March 22nd.
The decision, in part, was due to the majority of those surveyed saying they believe masks work, and that vaccination levels are not where Fargo Cass Public Health, or the city need them to be.
“We only have 12 or 13 percent, we’re looing for 40 to 50 before we try and take this tool away”, said Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney after the meeting.
The next expiration date of the mandate aligns with a scheduled City Commission meeting, whereas this meeting was scheduled out of order do to the mandate previously being set to expire on Thursday.
