Bismarck, North Dakota – A bill providing $6 million to pay for school meals for K–12 kids from low-income households for the following two years is approved by the North Dakota House and Senate.
To resolve disagreements over the law, a conference committee worked into the night on Thursday.
According to the plan, a family of four would be eligible for the school meal program if their annual income was less than $60,000.
The bill is now on the desk of Governor Doug Burgum.
