Police in Fargo looking for a man who is trying to scam local businesses

Fargo, North Dakota – The Fargo Police Department is requesting your assistance in locating a guy who has made attempts to defraud companies in Fargo and the surrounding areas.

According to the department, Caucasian male Andrew Magnusson, 21, is about 5’11” and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes. He has been known to approach a place of business while posing as a 17-year-old named “Matthias Huglen,” and then claim to have just been robbed outside and need to know where the security cameras are.

Magnusson gave the firms a phony police report number and fictitious names of FPD officers. After making an emotional appeal and telling a false story about his life, he then makes a donation request. In an effort to get money, Magnusson has even been known to reach into cash registers at companies.

In connection with these reports, he is currently the subject of an arrest warrant.
