Valley City Police investigating controversial flyers

Valley City, North Dakota – Police are looking into contentious fliers concerning a book in the Valley City Barnes County Public Library’s collection.

The leaflet, which the president of the board of directors claims was made by the library, had approved graphic imagery taken from the book, according to the president.

The flyers have nothing to do with the library and were distributed by an unidentified source.

Due to the book’s violent illustrations and what they deemed to be a contentious message about human sexuality, a number of residents had urged the library director and the board of directors to stop lending it out.
