Bismarck, North Dakota – The Christmas season has officially begun since Thanksgiving, and the Former Governor’s Mansion plans to celebrate with a number of free public holiday gatherings.
The mansion will have its yearly Holiday Open House on November 27 and December 4 when visitors can build their own holiday ornaments, eat refreshments, and take self-guided tours of the festively furnished mansion. Santa will be stopping by the house from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on each of the days the open house is open.
Following the open house dates, visitors to the mansion are encouraged to participate in the decoration of the historical site’s Christmas tree on December 10 from 2-4 p.m. using ornaments that can be manufactured there.
Visitors can take advantage of a pre-holiday Christmas story reading on December 23 between 4 and 4:30 p.m.
Light refreshments (cookies and hot cider) will be provided, and all activities are free and open to people of all ages. Visit the official Mansion Holiday Events page on ND Tourism for more details.
