Bismarck’s Capital Quilters present Quiltfest

Bismarck, North Dakota – The first day of the Capital Quilters’ Quiltfest was Friday.

The Bismarck Hotel and Conference Center is the venue for the three-day event.

Capital Quilters reports that there has been a constant stream of visitors on the first day, which has been successful. The event includes a quilt show, vendors, and a variety of classes.

“We have all the way from beginning quilting classes to classes that focus more on how to better use the features of your sewing machine. We also have classes that focus on hand stitch kinds of work, such as embroidery,” said Marilyn Orgaard, President of Capitol Quilters.

Orgaard states that although class registration is now closed, visitors can still admire the more than 200 quilts on exhibit and shop from merchants who are selling their wares. It costs $5 to enter.

Young people under the age of 12 are admitted for free.
