Identity of driver killed in Ardoch accident revealed

West Fargo, North Dakota – The motorist who was killed in the accident yesterday has been identified by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

26-year-old Amanda Thompson, a West Fargo resident, was driving her SUV northbound on US Highway 81 along a curve in the road. A semi-truck was heading southward at the same curve at the same time. That’s when Thompson’s car crossed into the southbound lane and collided with the semi-truck head-on. The semi and SUV both crashed into the east ditch, with the SUV rolling onto its driver’s side as a result.

Thompson died as a result of her injuries in the accident. Duane Cummings, a 78-year-old semi-truck driver, was not injured in the accident. Both drivers had their seatbelts fastened.
