Bismarck man faces charges of endangerment by fire

Bismarck, North Dakota – An arrest has been made in connection with a fire at a Bismarck apartment complex, according to police.

Around 5 a.m. on Thursday, firefighters were called to the three-story apartment building to put out a fire. The 33-year-old man who was subsequently arrested was found on his balcony as tenants were being evacuated.

The preliminary investigation of the fire showed that the man was boiling cooking oil.

He informed investigators that he intended to dump the oil at gang members who attempted to break into his flat.

On a probable charge of endangerment by fire, the individual is being held at the Burleigh Morton Detention Center.
