The pedestrian who was struck and injured in a crash in Southeast Portland on Friday has died

Portland, OR – The Friday’s pedestrian involved accident in Southeast Portland appears to be fatal for the person who was struck and injured, then transferred to hospital for treatment after he died on Tuesday, police say.

According to the police report, the incident happened on Friday around 8:40 p.m. and deputies responded at the scene after someone reported the crash.

When they arrived at the scene, authorities found out that one vehicle and one pedestrian were involved in the incident. The pedestrian was suffering serious, life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

The pedestrian was transferred and treated in hospital since Friday, but authorities say in an announcement today that he died in hospital on Tuesday. The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and helped the authorities with the report.

While the police were investigating the scene, the area was closed for vehicles.

At this point, no charges have been filed against the driver.
