CVIC, CAWS North Dakota receive federal funds

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), through the Office on Violence Against Women, has awarded funding to two North Dakota groups.

Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) in Grand Forks – $500,000 through the Legal Assistance for Victims Grant Program to support programs offering legal assistance to survivors of domestic abuse or violence.

CAWS North Dakota in Bismarck – $243,619 through the State and Territorial Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions Program to enhance community-based coalitions and support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

“This funding will allow for additional assistance for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, helping to ensure they receive the proper support and resources necessary for recovery,” said Hoeven.
