Richmond, VA – City of Richmond officials announced the launch of Operation Vaporize, a coordinated enforcement effort aimed at ensuring vape shop retail establishments comply with local and state regulations.
The announcement was made by Mayor Danny Avula alongside Richmond Police Department Chief Rick Edwards and Planning and Development Review Director Kevin Vonck. Operation Vaporize focuses on enforcing zoning, building, and safety code requirements at vape shop locations throughout the city.
Inspection teams include personnel from the Richmond Police Department, Richmond Fire Department, Planning and Development Review, Zoning, and Finance.
These teams are conducting routine inspections to verify that businesses are operating in accordance with applicable laws and safety standards.
City officials said the initiative is intended to promote public safety, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure that businesses operate responsibly within Richmond’s established codes.
