Multiple People Injured in Early Morning Crash on Route 1 in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A serious two-vehicle collision early Monday morning left multiple individuals with life-threatening injuries, authorities reported. The crash occurred at approximately 2:57 a.m. on March 31, 2025, along Route 1 in Chesterfield County.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, a blue 2016 Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Route 1 when it veered across the center lane and collided with a white 2022 Toyota Corolla, which was traveling southbound. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to both vehicles and left several people seriously injured.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the southbound lanes of Route 1 were closed for several hours between Happy Hill Road and Woods Edge Road while authorities investigated the incident. The road has since reopened, though police continue to look into the cause of the crash.

At this time, officials have confirmed that multiple people involved in the collision are facing life-threatening injuries, though their identities have not been released.
