15-Year-Old Girl Killed in Shooting in Chesterfield County

Chesterfield County, Va. — A 15-year-old girl has been identified as the victim of a deadly shooting early Sunday morning in Chesterfield County.

At approximately 12:22 a.m. on March 2, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 6300 block of Pewter Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found two individuals in a vehicle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The female victim, who initially appeared to be an adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police confirmed that both victims were known to each other.

The deceased female was later identified as a 15-year-old girl, though authorities have withheld her name, pending the consent of her family.

Investigators say that while the incident remains under investigation, early findings suggest that this was an isolated event, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
