RICHMOND, Va. — A 37-year-old man has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a crash on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond on Tuesday, January 4.
According to the Richmond Police Department, the victim, Anthony Green, was struck by a vehicle that veered off the roadway around 11 a.m. on the 2300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. The driver, heading south on the avenue, lost control of the vehicle, which mounted the sidewalk and struck Green before colliding with a nearby building.
The vehicle continued along the sidewalk, eventually hitting an unoccupied parked car before coming to a stop.
Green was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and his passenger, a woman, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team is continuing to investigate the incident. At this time, no charges have been filed.
