Virginia State University announced that the College of Engineering and Technology has been approved to offer a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering by the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia

Richmond, VA – According to the statement, the University will reportedly expand its academic offerings with this new bachelor’s degree program that will be effective for Fall 2024.

The new program will prepare students for one of the most sought-after engineering careers in the country.

Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering will learn to design and plan a variety of production-wide products such as transmissions, aircraft engines, prosthetic devices, gas and wind turbines, robots, space shuttle vehicles, and more.

The program will prepare graduates to work in the engineering services, research and development, and manufacturing industries.

They will be able to design, develop, build, and test various mechanical devices, tools, engines, and machines, from initial design and development to installation, testing, and maintenance.
