VDOT will suspend most highway work zones and lift most lane closures on interstates and other major roads in Virginia for the Easter holiday until noon Tuesday, April 2, 2024

Richmond, VA – According to the statement, wwhile lane closures will be lifted in most locations, motorists may encounter semi-permanent work zones that remain in place during this time.

State officials also said that all Virginians should do their part in making travel safer for all: 

  • Don’t drive distracted, and speak up if someone else is doing so  
  • Take a break if you are drowsy  
  • Keep your eyes on the road  
  • Buckle up  
  • If you plan to drink, have a designated driver or use a ride service
