Grand Forks, North Dakota – At his trial, the man accused of killing an officer of the Grand Forks Police Department and his mother is speaking for himself.
On the final day of hearing, Salamah Pendleton said that he feared for his life during a shootout with police officers who arrived to his home to serve eviction papers.
Pendelton says that officers first fired gunshots and claims he thought intruders were breaking into his home.
For the murderers of Grand Forks Police Officer Cody Holte and his mother, Pendelton faces two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder and several additional charges.
