Bismarck, North Dakota – According to a press statement issued by the United States Department of Transportation, the Biden-Harris Administration announced more than $4.7 million for North Dakota to rehabilitate roadways.
It consists of five awards for municipalities in North Dakota and is a part of the new Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program.
The amount of $2.8 million will go toward implementation projects in McKenzie County. The funding will assist the county in implementing systemic safety upgrades.
Improved shoulder and centerline rumble strips, advanced curve warnings, upgraded chevrons, signs and markings, and street lighting are just a few of the specific project tasks. Additionally, a walkway with a separate bike and pedestrian path will be built on it. There are 21 corridors, 30 places for curves, and 30 crossings included in the project’s scope.
Four action planning grants will be given for the improvement of road safety in Williston, the Fargo-Moorhead region, Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, and North Dakota State University in addition to McKenzie County.
