Three Arrested in Connection to Larcenies at Hanover County Fire Station

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three individuals following a series of larcenies at a fire station in Doswell. The suspects were taken into custody on Thursday, January 23, after several vehicles were reported broken into at Hanover Fire and EMS’ Station 4, located on the 16200 block of Washington Highway in Doswell.

At approximately 1:27 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of several vehicles with broken windows. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple vehicles had been entered, and a suspect vehicle was identified. Deputies quickly began searching the area, and within a short period, they located the same vehicle near the intersection of Chamberlayne Road and Atlee Road.

A traffic stop was initiated, leading to the identification of three suspects—two adults and a juvenile. The names of the suspects have not been released, as the investigation remains ongoing and involves multiple jurisdictions. However, the adults were transported to Pamunkey Regional Jail, and a detainer has been sought for the juvenile involved.

This investigation is part of a broader, multi-jurisdictional effort, with cooperation from law enforcement agencies in Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Richmond, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, and Spotsylvania County. In a statement, the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office praised the collaborative efforts of the various police departments, stating, “Without their efforts and contributions, we would not have achieved the successful resolution we reached this morning.”

The sheriff’s office further emphasized that the case was a significant one for the local fire and EMS community, whose vehicles were targeted in the thefts. Authorities expressed their gratitude for the teamwork and communication that ultimately led to the suspects’ apprehension.
