Bismarck, North Dakota – Paleontologists working for the North Dakota Geological Survey are currently putting in a lot of effort to catalogue tens of thousands of fossilized plant remains.
A Wisconsin museum recently reduced its collection, which resulted in the return of approximately four thousand specimens to their home state.
The fossilized plants date back to a time period shortly after the extinction of the dinosaurs and are among the most varied and interesting discoveries ever made in North America.
More than fifty of the plant species have never been found in any other part of the world.
