The Virginia Department of Transportation’s design-build contractor Kokosing Construction Company will continue work to replace the bridge on East Broad Street over Interstate 95 in the City of Richmond

Richmond, VA – VDOT officials released a statement, saying that this work is being completed during a series of weekend closures.

Weather permitting, the next weekend closure is scheduled for Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m. through Monday, May 20 at 6 a.m.

The northbound and southbound travel lanes of I-95 at mile marker 74, will be reduced to one lane in each direction continuously.

Broad Street in both directions at the bridge over I-95 will also be closed through the weekend. Pedestrian access on Broad Street will remain available.

In addition, motorists can expect the following closures:

  • Exit 74B (I-95 South to Franklin Street)
  • Westbound ramp from Broad Street to I-95
  • Ramp from Broad Street to I-95 South

Future closure dates for the impacted weekends will be communicated as the project progresses.
