The Richmond Police Department will host a free wheel lock giveaway at the Richmond Police Training Academy parking lot

Richmond, VA – Per reports, the Richmond Police Department continues its efforts to decrease motor vehicle thefts within the city of Richmond.

This Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the department will host a free wheel lock giveaway at the Richmond Police Training Academy parking lot, located at 1202 West Graham Road, Richmond, VA 23220.

This event provides a fast and efficient way for Richmond City residents to receive a free steering wheel lock.

Officers will be on-site, distributing steering wheel locks specifically to Richmond residents who own Hyundai and Kia vehicles, while supplies last.

Residents simply need to drive up to the parking area, present proof of residency and proof of ownership of a Hyundai or Kia, receive a free steering wheel lock, and drive away. This initiative aims to enhance vehicle security and reduce the incidence of motor vehicle thefts in the community.
