The Richmond Police Department has charged two individuals for their dangerous and illegal actions of recklessly shooting firearms in the air on New Years Eve

Richmond, VA – According to the police officials, video of the two individuals firing into the air on New Years Eve was posted online and First Precinct Focused Mission Team officers worked the investigation.

They identified the suspects, gathered information, obtained search warrants, seized the firearms and made the arrests.

The two were both charged with shooting within 1000 feet of a school zone and reckless handling of a firearm, while one of the suspects was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detectives across the RPD are continuing to investigate reports of individuals who recklessly fired into the air on the holiday.
