The northbound I-395 ramp to Shirlington Circle will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 31 until 3 p.m. for pothole repairs, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation

Richmond, VA – According to the state officials, traffic will be detoured via the northbound I-395 ramp to North Quaker Lane, North Quaker Lane, Preston Lane, Martha Custis Drive and Gunston Road back to Shirlington Circle.

The pothole repairs are part of the project to rehabilitate the Shirlington Circle south rotary bridge over I-395.

The project, which will improve safety for drivers and extend the overall life of the bridge, is scheduled for completion in mid-2025.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones.

Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
