CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va.— A teenager is in critical condition after being shot in the chest Monday afternoon at an apartment complex in Chesterfield County.
According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:42 p.m. on May 26 to the 5400 block of Remuda Drive following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police discovered a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the complex. Authorities confirmed the teen had been shot in the chest.
Emergency medical services transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
As of Monday evening, no additional details have been released. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear what led to the shooting.
