Suspect Arrested in Connection with Chesterfield County Home Invasion and Robbery

Chesterfield County, VA – A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent home invasion and robbery that occurred on Christmas Eve in Chesterfield County.

Barry Rush, of Chesterfield, was apprehended on December 27 after an extensive investigation by local authorities. He faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, abduction, robbery causing serious bodily injury, burglary, aggravated malicious wounding, and conspiracy.

The crime took place on the evening of December 24, when two armed suspects forcibly entered a residence on Ratling Drive. According to the Chesterfield Police Department, the suspects demanded money from the victims and caused serious injuries. One of the victims was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment following the attack.

During the robbery, the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money and other personal belongings before fleeing the scene. The two suspects were described by authorities as Black males, dressed in black clothing, wearing gloves and masks to conceal their identities.

Police emphasized that the home invasion was not a random act, suggesting that the victims were specifically targeted. Rush, who was arrested on December 27, is being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and have urged anyone with information or nearby home surveillance footage to come forward. Authorities are asking residents to contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251.

The case remains under active investigation as law enforcement works to identify and apprehend any additional individuals involved in the crime.
