SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — A shooting spree on Tuesday evening left six people injured, three of whom died, in what authorities are still working to piece together. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) confirmed that the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at Olde Greenwich Circle.
According to the SCSO, three victims were rushed to the hospital with injuries, while three others were found deceased at the scene. The ages and identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed, and officials have not revealed the severity of the injuries sustained.
As of 7:11 p.m., no arrests had been made, and law enforcement officials were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting. The number of suspects involved remains unclear.
SCSO Major Elizabeth Scott addressed the ongoing investigation during a press briefing, stating, “Multiple investigators are still there trying to determine who the suspects were and what the motive is.” Authorities are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that might assist in the case. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as shots rang out. One individual, who spoke to DC News Now, recounted the terrifying moments when the gunfire erupted. “I heard like 10 or 15 single shots,” the witness recalled. “Then it stopped again for five seconds, and it started again.”
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
