Rise of 203% in overdose cases in Fargo

Fargo, North Dakota – According to the Fargo Police Department’s Annual Report, rise of 203% in drug overdoses is recorded in Fargo.

Fargo Police responded to 91 cases of overdose in 2020. 18 of them were fatal.

In 2019, Fargo police responded to 34 overdoses. That number was even less in 2018.

Fargo and West Fargo police chiefs collaborated with the North Dakota House of Representatives on a bill that would increase penalties for drug dealers and traffickers, while offering protection from criminal prosecution to people under the Good Samaritan Law.
