Richmond Police Seek Suspect in Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud Case

RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a series of identity theft and credit card fraud incidents. According to authorities, the unidentified suspect is connected to a recent case involving the theft of a purse outside of the city.

Shortly after the purse was stolen, detectives from the Third Precinct were notified that the suspect had used the victim’s stolen information to withdraw cash from a local bank. Surveillance footage captured the suspect at a bank located at 10 North Nansemond Street, where she reportedly used the victim’s identification to conduct a transaction at the teller.

In addition to the Nansemond Street location, the suspect is also believed to have used fraudulent information at two other locations: 3200 West Broad Street and 2400 Fairmont Avenue.

The Richmond Police Department is continuing to investigate the case and has emphasized the importance of public assistance in bringing the suspect to justice.
