Richmond Man Found Shot Dead in Apartment; Police Investigating Homicide

RICHMOND, Va. — Authorities are investigating the death of a 39-year-old man who was found shot inside an apartment late last month. The Richmond Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, after receiving a report of a person shot in the 400 block of East Brookland Park Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the man inside the apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, April 8, the police identified the victim as Donte Johnson, a resident of Richmond. Investigators are treating Johnson’s death as a homicide.
