Richmond Man Found Shot Dead After Single-Vehicle Crash

RICHMOND, Va. — A Richmond man was found shot to death following a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 1:38 a.m. on June 4, Richmond Police officers responded to a crash report in the 2300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Antonio Nixon inside his vehicle, which had veered off the road near West Graham Road, striking a tree and a nearby structure.

Nixon, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that he had been shot, as a bullet hole was found in the vehicle.

Authorities have not released additional details at this time and continue to investigate the incident as a homicide.
